The Green Kalahari is a world of contrasts with lush green valleys of the Orange River next to semi-desert of the Kalahari. The fertile valleys are home to green vineyards and fruit orchards. The Green Kalahari is an area of natural beauty and is home to many animals including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, and gemsbok.
The San used to live and hunt in this area and were the initial inhabitants of Southern Africa; however, today not many San remain. The Green Kalahari is a magical place, rich in beauty and history.
