Situated on Route 62 and approximately 2-hours drive from Cape Town, Montagu is a picturesque town surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges, stunning scenery and a variety of attractions including the popular hot mineral springs.
The surrounding Langeberg mountains provide a range of outdoor and adventure activities from hiking and rock climbing to mountain biking and 4x4 trails.
The town itself showcases an interesting array of both Cape Dutch and Georgian-style architecture and many of the buildings have been declared national monuments. Visitors can also enjoy visiting the many art and craft shops and galleries displaying the works of local artists. For wine lovers, there are 45 wine cellars in the area that produce some of the finest wines in South Africa.
