The quaint towns of the winelands are filled with history, Cape Dutch architecture and many interesting galleries and boutique stores. The winelands are just 45 minutes from Cape Town and offer a great break away into an area filled with good food and wine, set amongst majestic mountain backdrops and breathtaking views.

The most popular and well-known wine routes run through Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, both of which offer a multitude of wine estates with delicious wine and beautiful views. A visit to a farm offers visitors the chance to sample fine wines, enjoy a cellar tour and perhaps meet the winemaker himself.
