"First impressions as we drove up to the cottage were a little disappointing (broken shutters, bit run down). But inside, the old cottage (built 1856) has been very tastefully renovated and has a surprisingly upmarket 'air'. The surround/garden is indigenous and well kept, and the braai area/stoep is sheltered. It's probably worth staying 2 nights, especially if you arrive late pm - first night have a meal in the town, and braai the next night. We'll definitely book Akkedis cottage next time we stay over in PRINCE ALBERT."
