We pride ourselves on our discreet service, home-cooked gourmet meals and comfort to smother your soul in. The house was designed by Stephen Arendz, a popular Johannesburg architect in the 50's. The house was renovated in 2007 and decorated by the talented owner, Sandy, who has a free-flowing, vibrant energy that carries through in each and every design throughout the house. 33 Melville Road epitomizes all that is best about living in Johannesburg: a rambling mansion on the exterior with a surprisingly off-beat elegance throughout the interiors. The style is African-chic, vintage, modern, playful and unusual. It's this charming combination of class and humour that makes 33 Melville Road such an appealing home. Our 3 luxurious suites are all uniquely themed with their own distinctive style and character, and indulgent and expansive bathrooms.
In-room facilities include: Flat-screen television with unlimited DSTV, an iPod docking station, direct-dial telephone and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Establishment facilities include: State-of-the-art security, boardroom seating up to 12 people, a large comfortable lounge, dining room, expansive patio looking out onto rolling lawns and rose garden, a chef to cater to guests' dietary preferences and meetings/small functions, a swimming pool, tennis court and gym.
Unfortunately we do not accommodate children under the age of 12.
