Perlman House offers comfortable accommodation in charming two historical cottages in the town of Sutherland. The cottages are one of the oldest buildings in town, and is approximately 140 years old. It was once home to Barnett Perlman, a prominent Jewish merchant, and his Polish wife, hence the name Perlman House.
The cottages features original Oregon wooden floors and window frames which are still visible in some of the rooms. The thick stone walls keep the house cool in the summer months, and in winter, guests can gather round one of the fireplaces to keep warm. Bring along some wood or buy at a local store to keep the fires going. The guest house supplies reading material and board games for entertainment.
Guests have access to a private entrance with a remote control gate, and access to a shared backyard where vehicles can be parked safely. There is an outside firepit for family gatherings, as well as several seating areas. As part of the service, the guest house offers bookings for guests wishing to visit the South African Astronomical Observatory.
