Moonriver Mountain Retreat offers guests spectacular views of the amazing Valley and surrounds, as well as walking or strenuous hiking for the fitter visitors. During summer, there are numerous springs and water streams to explore in different valleys, with abundant wildlife, birds and flowers.
Moonriver Mountain Retreat is a self-catering/self-service establishment and is nestled on the edge of a large secluded valley, in the heart of the Waterberg Biosphere of Limpopo, South Africa and is the part of Waterberg Bushveld Retreat, which is open to the public.
Moonriver is a 3 hours drive from Pretoria.
Safari and Sunrise Chalets sleeps 2 persons and have an open plan bedroom/lounge area and en-suite bathroom. All en-suite bathrooms have a shower and bath. Each Chalet is tastefully appointed with an open fireplace, ceiling fan, small kitchenette with cutlery, cookware, fridge and mini oven with two plates. Own private deck and portable braai.
Safari Chalet is not suitable for elderly people.
Waterhole Chalet sleeps 4 persons and have 2 separate bedrooms. Sitting room with an open fireplace and ceiling fan. Small kitchen with cutlery, cookware, Fridge and Gas oven. Private deck and outside portable braai.
The Chalets have been designed with total glass frontage, to take maximum advantage of the breathtaking view and are situated away from the Main Lodge.
The Chalets are within walking distance of the Main Lodge and Parking Area.
Eagle's Nest Lodge have three separate bedrooms, each with its own entrance from the large veranda. It has a large lounge and dining area, including an inside fire place and open plan kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, gas stove/oven and large fridge. All rooms have ceiling fans and the main bedroom aircon. It has a thatch covered wooden deck overlooking the valley and the large braai area. Two bedrooms have bathrooms with a bath and shower. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower only. Maximum 6 persons.
The only swimming pool is at the Main Lodge which are equipped with spacious open lounge/dining room with fire places, large equipped kitchen with Microwave, Bar Fridges and Gas Oven. Toilet facilities and fire boma.

We enjoyed the setting - completely surrounded by nature with lovely views.
