Williston @21 (formerly Williston B&B) located in Williston, Northern Cape - is the ideal
overnight stop on the R63 route to the West Coast and Cape Town. This house dates from
the period of the drought from 1926 - 1933 when Reverend Scholtz built it for the Bank
Manager with the help of his parishioners - their earnings saved the community from
starvation.
With its own character, this guesthouse offers typical rural hospitality where
visitors can experience the tranquility, fresh air and a cloudless Karoo sky. Across the street
is the historic sandstone church building, as well as a labyrinth laid out with indigenous
South-African succulents. The harsh Karoo landscapes and spectacular sunset speak to the
heart of every naturalist, traveler or holidaymaker. Birdwatchers can also enjoy the home
of endemic bird species of the Karoo.
The hostess, Elsa, is a home entrepreneur who lives her hobbies - like making natural soap
and ointment according to ancient family recipes. Researchers and visitors can come here
for information, points of interest, and history of the town and surrounding area. Guests
can order traditional farm bread, “skuinskoek” or “boerbeskuit” on special request.
Williston @21 offers affordable accommodation - 3 en-suite patio rooms with a king-size
bed and 2 single beds, respectively. In the house are 2 bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms
available for sharing. One bedroom has 2 single beds and the other has a double bed plus
single bed.
Tea and coffee facilities
Braai facilities are available on request
On-site parking.
Card facilities are available
Karoo International Manna Restaurant is within walking distance from the guesthouse.
Pet friendly (only patio rooms)

"traveling from Pretoria to St Helena Bay. Williston is a small Northern Cape dorpie. We enjoyed our stay, it is very basic and keep in mind a very draught stricken area. so if your are looking for a fancy upmarket place do not go there. See the place for where it is and appreciate it. There was nothing wrong with the showers as some one said in a previous review. I will stay there again with pleasure. (just be sure to take enough mozzi spray)"
