The Beyer family has been running the farm Dornhuegel since 1904.
After Namibia's independence in 1990, they started welcoming guests on their farm in 1994. Besides practicing cattle breeding, they grew cotton, millet and maize. Today, the farm raises different cattle breeds, Damara sheep and Basotho horses a traditional horse breed from Lesotho. The farm is home to a fascinating variety of wild game, which can be discovered on every farm ride with Max, the farmer. Beside others, giraffes, zebras, kudus, eland antelopes and innumerable warthogs can be seen on Dornhuegel. Enjoy a cool sun downer while watching the wild game at the waterholes in the evening.
There are eight spacious and individually arranged guest rooms that are furnished comfortably and radiate a friendly atmosphere. All rooms come with a large and high quality ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet as well as make-up mirror and hairdryer. All guest rooms are appointed with ornamental furs of the NGuni cattle, which give them a unique African style and let you, feel the Namibian way of farm life. A fridge, with fully equipped mini bar and a ceiling fan make sure that the heat is kept out of your room.
Our guests can relax in canvas chairs at the pool and in the entire garden, where you can find different native trees in flower. Enjoy the silent and familial atmosphere of Dornhuegel Guest farm on our shady terrace with bar.
All meals are served in a familial atmosphere. Depending on the weather, meals are served outside on the terrace or next to a cosy open fire.
