“A Canopy of a Million Stars……”
The Addo Elephant National Park lies hidden within the cavernous bushveld of the Eastern Cape.
It is here where the evening’s silence is broken by the howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins’ call heralds each new dawn. With uninterrupted views of the Karoo Plains and the Zuurberg Mountains, Kuzuko Lodge lies in a private concession to the north of the Addo Elephant National Park, the third largest national park in South Africa in a malaria-free region.
Kuzuko Lodge rests on a hill overlooking the Kaboega plains and Winterberg Mountains. Our twenty-four chalets offer guests awe-inspiring views of a big five reserve, a watering hole and the plains of the African Klein Karoo.
Private verandas overlooking the reserve are complemented by our luxurious chalets and warm, attentive service.
Each of our chalets - of which three are wheelchair accessible - offer guests a secluded balcony, an en suite bathroom with bath and walk in shower, a hairdryer, direct dialling telephones, wireless connectivity, international adaptors, an electronic safe, air conditioning, television with a variety of digital satellite channels, a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities.
Double or twin room chalets are available. Each chalet is furnished with sleeper couch perfect for children under 12.
At Kuzuko we strive to capture the essence of home style Karoo in our cooking. Karoo cooking is less about food preparation, and more about the quality and freshness of the produce used. At Kuzuko Lodge we mimic the style of cooking our grandmothers used. Age-old Karoo recipes are part of tradition and unique to the Karoo culture.
Game drives take place as the sun rises, during the afternoon and as the sun sets. Our experienced guides are sure to track and point out the many species of game that roam the Kuzuko reserve. With our nocturnal animals out and about, sunrise and sunset drives offer a very different view of the wild.
Children are most welcome at Kuzuko Lodge. We cater for their every need with everything from child friendly decks, kiddie menus and sleeper couches - for under twelve's - to a special activity programme overseen by a dedicated game ranger.
Child Policy:
***Please note: no children under the age of 6 years permitted on game drives.
