Brandrivier Accommodation
Springbok
Tented Camp, Self Catering
(3
units)
(3 customer reviews)
Brandrivier offers private, romantic, self-catering tented accommodation nestled in the heartland of Namaqualand near Springbok. You can find peace and total privacy on the farm.
The accommodation is fully equipped and elegantly furnished with breath taking views from the porch. Our Skilpad unit has an outside shower and a romantic Victorian bathtub.
Wildlife ranges from springbuck, klipspringers and baboons, to porcupines and bat eared foxes. The sound of the Cape Eagle owl or barn owls at night should make your stay an once-in-a-lifetime experience. The gas BBQ patio facility allows for a variety of cooking methods. We are offgrid, but provide facilities for charging electronic equipment(Cellphones and laptops), heaters in winter and field guides describing the Namaqualand flowers in detail.
In the flower season (June to September) a vast variety of flowers can be found on the farm and in surrounding areas. Other interesting plants include the quiver tree and Tylocodon paniculates: known in Afrikaans as the Botterboom and in English as the Butter tree.
Some of the other things to enjoy while visit the area are Star gazing at night, Flower "hunting" during the day, visits to the surrounding Namaqualand parks (Goegab and the Namaqua national park are both less than 30 km away), visiting Nababeep mine museum, Hondeklipbaai or even the Richtersveld area.
Weather conditions are hot in summer and chilly (and sometimes wet) in winter.
Conveniently situated on the N7, yet away from the rustle and bustle of town, this is the perfect hide-away to visit when in the area.
