Blaauwheim Guesthouse is a luxurious upmarket retreat offering bed & breakfast accommodation in Somerset West near Cape Town, South Africa. Nestled at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain in the Cape Winelands, Somerset West is a tranquil and up market suburb in Cape Town East, only 20 minutes from Cape Town International and a 40 minutes from Cape Town centre.
Blaauwheim Guest House is an exclusive 5 Star establishment in Somerset West, run by co-owners Johan and Jo-Anne Blaauw. It consists of two luxurious suites, Pinotage and Chardonnay as well as a deluxe double bedroom called Shiraz. Each suite comprises a lounge/dining room/kitchenette, a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a guest toilet and veranda or balcony. The deluxe bedroom has an en suite full bathroom, a private garden with a gazibo and barbecue facility.There is ample secure parking available within the premises. The lush, treed garden boasts indigenous yellowwood trees frequented by many birds and a substantial collection of cycads. Blaauwheim has ample water of excellent quality.
Blaauwheim Guesthouse is in the heart of the famous Cape Winelands, near the long sandy beaches of Strand and within easy reach of Hermanus, the whale watchers' paradise. Golfers are spoilt for choice with a selection of golf courses on our doorstep. Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in the country, is a mere 10 minutes away and Franschhoek will take another 15 minutes along a beautiful scenic route.
Cape Town, which is famous for Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, excellent shopping centres, sports facilities, theatres and entertainment are only 40 minutes away. This vibrant metropolis with its kaleidoscope of culture is one of the top ten most visited cities in the world.

Shiraz, a deluxe double bedroom with ensuite full bathroom, is the latest addition to Blaauwheim Guesthouse. Shiraz offers a super king size extra length bed or 2 single beds with crisp 300TC cotton linen and a duvet filled with hypo-allergenic silk for rejuvenating sleep.
It is also equipped with a bar fridge with mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities. Flat screen TV with satellite TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi internet, digital safe and hair dryer come standard. Step out on pure new wool carpets and admire the superb views of Helderberg.
The ensuite bathroom has a bath and separate shower, "his" and "hers" basins, toilet and bidet. The heated towels, robes, slippers and under floor heating make for a great bathroom experience.
This room called Shiraz opens up to a private courtyard where you can sit in the evening breeze and enjoy your sun downer while the hosts prepare you a dinner on the barbeque. Shiraz has no self catering facilities and a full South African breakfast is always included in the rates. The maximum number of persons that can be accommodated in Shiraz are two.
