Cruising the beauty that is South Africa there’s one thing you cannot afford to miss: The Drakensberg. And there’s nowhere better to stay than here at Khotso. Our 1300 hectare working horse and sheep farm, nestled at the foot of this majestic mountain range is minutes away from the famous Sani Pass.
There is accommodation aplenty on Khotso Adventure Farm.
Whether you are needing Self-Catering Accommodation, a bunk bed Backpacker style place to sleep, or a spot to pitch your tent and camp or park your Over-Lander - Khotso has the space and the Accommodation facilities for all your Adventure or holiday needs.
Once back at the farm our friendly staff is more than willing to point you in the direction of one of the beautiful hikes around our 1300 hectare of land. Stop off at Blue’s pool for a cooling dip and a jump from the waterfall. Alternatively, a hot summer’s day is best spent floating down the river in one of our tubes. For large groups and corporate events, we are more than happy to organise a whole day program for you filled with activities such as orienteering, raft building and horse relay races.
Officially known as Tretower farm, this family run business has been operating for generations. Originally sheep were the main source of income, however the constant attacks from jackal made it almost impossible to maintain a profit. It was decided that a backpackers and horse trails were the way forward and in the early 90s, Khotso opened her doors to the first travellers. Since then, Khotso has grown to become the most established horse trail stables in the Southern Drakensberg, the most comfortable self-catering in Kwa-Zulu Natal and the most chilled out backpackers in South Africa.
