Your own piece of paradise.
Amidst the exquisite high country of Haenertsburg / Magoebaskloof in the Limpopo Province, land of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and forests, stands the elegant Stanford Lake Lodge, a tribute to those seeking nature at its best.
We offer self-catering single and double storey log cabins overlooking the 17-hectare Stanford Lake, whose waterfall feeds the spectacular Ebenezer Dam.
There is also three semi-detached self-catering cottages 500m away from the lake and only a stone’s throw from the indigenous forest.
Trout and Bass fly-fishing available and our bird life is fantastic – Fish Eagles are the norm! The farm boasts a bird list of over 90 birds! Take a 2.4km walk through our indigenous forest – it is nothing but spectacular – nature at its best! Or get on your mountain bike for a 9km ride along a lake, dams, and indigenous forest! By choice, no TV in the cabins - there are places close by (pubs and restaurants) with TV screens for sports enthusiasts, etc.
Stanford Lake Lodge is less than a three-hour drive from Pretoria. Located in between Haenertsburg & Magoebaskloof - known as “the capital of the land of the Silver Mists”, this enchanting corner of the Limpopo Province forms a natural gateway both to and from the Kruger National Park. Birdlife in the area is prolific, with Knysna and Purple Crested Loeries, several species of eagles and the very rare black fronted bush shrike. Over 187 species of birds have been identified on the mountain. Plant life enthusiasts will be overwhelmed at the diversity of plant life. Some of South Africa’s most beautiful indigenous forests and grasslands occur here. The best known trees are yellow-woods, stinkwoods and cabbage trees. The forests and grasslands are home to an incredible variety of plants and ferns.
