In the heart of the picturesque village of Bedford, you’ll find a charming little establishment called ‘The Duke of Bedford Inn’. The old Victorian hotel, which for many years stood here in ruin, has been lovingly restored and upgraded and 11 comfortable en-suite rooms have been created within the original old stone walls.
In the traditional wing the worn old wooden floors bare testament to the history of the building and wherever possible as much of the old has been retained to enhance the new.
All accommodation rooms are fully air-conditioned. All rooms have DSTV hotel bouquet, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Our conference facilities can comfortably host a variety of functions from a small formal meeting room for 15 people to a celebration dinner for 200 in our beautiful new ballroom.
A full English breakfast is served daily in the Ladies Lounge and we’re pleased to announce that we are under new management with our new manager Iylsa Van Mierlo, we look forward to a bustling bar, light lunches in the Courtyard and excellent dinners in our new dining room.
Secure parking is available and there is a member of staff on duty 24 hours.

"We had stayed at the old Bedford Hotel several times in years gone by, Bedford being the home of grandparents. It was very ordinary, though good value. The re-incarnation as the Duke of Bedford Inn was a huge improvement. We stayed in a suite, with a living room, spacious bedroom, and a kitchenette...."

The re-incarnation as the Duke of Bedford Inn was a huge improvement. We stayed in a suite, with a living room, spacious bedroom, and a kitchenette. Furnishings reflected the olden times, in keeping with the long history of the hotel. We were very comfortable, the food was good, and the pianist playing during our evening meal in the ballroom was a real surprise. Other welcome additions were the lovely outdoor eating area, the swimming pool, and the adjoining interesting shops which opened both into this courtyard and to the street frontage. "
