Ukuta Private Game Reserve is situated on the R33 near Vaalwater and offers quality accommodation for a family, nature lovers, or a group of friends.
Ukuta Private Game Reserve brings guests closer to wildlife than ever before. We are the first private game reserve in the Waterberg that has purposefully built sunken hides at waterholes that wildlife and birdlife visit and guests can see and photograph only a few meters away from where we are sitting.
Guests also can use the overnight hides to view and photograph animals at nighttime, including lesser spotted wildlife like honey badgers, hyenas, bush pigs, civets, porcupines, and sometimes even leopard. At Ukuta private game reserve guests will have the widest variety of plains game to see and experience up close including Kudu, Nyala, Black Impalas, Golden Wildebeest, Zebras, Eland, Giraffes, Waterbuck, Oryx, Sables, Red hartebeest and buffalo. Ukuta has over 180 species of birds in our area for bird watchers and photographers.
The accommodation comprises 2 Deluxe Chalets which can accommodate 3 guests at a time and 2 Safari Tents that hold 2 guests at a time. The Deluxe Chalet comprises a queen-size bed and a single bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The Safari Tent comprises 2 single beds and shares ablution facilities with 1 other tent. The ablution facility has a shower, toilet and basin. There are lovely braai facilities and a swimming pool available for guests’ use during their stay.
Ukuta also offers exclusive game drives off-site at our nearby big 5 game reserve to see and experience elephant, lion, hippo, rhino, cheetah, and many more. Ukuta also offers 3-hour game viewing from horseback safaris followed with a well-deserved sundowner. Both the Horseback safaris and Big 5 game drives are off-site activities and are available only when booked on select packages.
