Ledges Retreat is a peaceful guest house in the Northern Drakensberg, conveniently located close to the Royal Natal National Park - home of the Tugela Falls (the highest waterfall in the world) and the Drakensberg Amphitheatre, as well as scenic hiking trails and great fishing spots. The resort itself is situated in a beautiful valley and surrounded by mountains.
We offer bed and breakfast, as well as self-catering accommodation in a beautiful location that gives you both the space to unwind, as well as a base from which to explore this incredible area.
All Out Adventures is down the road from us, and is a great day out for the family. They offer a zip line, bungee bounce, quad biking, kids’ zone, coffee shop and more! Tower of Pizza is 8kms away for great pizzas, and the Joker Bistro and Bake at Hlalanathi (7kms) has a cozy pub and big screen for sports! You can also play a round of golf at Amphitheatre Golf Course at Hlalanathi, or zip down their super-tube in the summer time!
Out-rides can be booked at the Northern Horse Stables at Montusi, and if you are a keen mountain biker, we are surrounded by 150kms of world class mountain biking trails. And of course, if you prefer you can simply walk along the numerous trails that surround us and enjoy the fresh air and soul-restoring beauty of the countryside.
Please note: As well as breakfast, we can also provide dinner, however advance notice is required. If you would like dinner on your day of arrival, please let us know by 11am on the day you arrive so that we can prepare.
