Nkonkoni Fishing Camp is situated within the Pongola Game Reserve in the beautiful Pongolapoort Biosphere. The camps are located close to the southern shores of the Pongolapoort Jozini Dam, in the bird sanctuary part of the biosphere, and overlooks the western escarpment of the majestic Lebombo Mountains and the endless savannah woodland of northern Zululand.
Accommodation is offered in self-catering Chalets and Safari Tents. Each chalet sleeping up to four guests is air-conditioned and equipped with a fridge-freezer, mini stove and oven, cutlery, crockery, linen and bath towels. Each chalet also has a private outdoor shower, a bathroom with either a Victorian or a spa bath, a separate toilet, private boma with braai facilities, use of a central boma with DSTV, fire pit and additional cooking facilities and use of a communal splash pool.
Each Safari Tent sleeps up to seven guests and is equipped with fans, a fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery, linen and bath towels. Each tent has its own private bathroom facilities with an outdoor shower and toilet, a private boma for cooking with a two-plate gas cooker and braai facilities, use of a central boma with DSTV, viewing deck, fire pit and additional cooking facilities, as well as use of a communal splash pool.
Please note:
***Children under 3 stay free.
***All accommodation is self-catering. However, catering for 4 or more can be arranged on request.
*** Gate hours are strictly 06h00-18h00, as you are entering the Pongola Game Reserve.
*** A late entry fee per vehicle will be charged for late entries and early exits.
*** A gate fee per vehicle and per boat is levied and payable before departure at the camp office.
*** An Indemnity Form needs to be signed at the gate on arrival. *** The camp is enclosed by an electric fence. No walking or cycling is permitted outside of the electric fence. Strictly no driving around after dark.
*** Wood, ice, bait and some basic supplies are sold from the camp office. No collecting of firewood is permitted.
*** Regrets, but we do not allow day visitors.
*** We do not have credit card facilities available.
*** Please bring torches or lanterns in the event of load shedding.
