Nestling beneath the Swartberg Mountains lies the village of Prince Albert, possible the prettiest small town in South Africa, with its Karoo style, Cape Dutch and Victorian houses lining quiet arboured streets. Canals lead mountain water into the lush gardens of flowers and fruit trees, a veritable oasis.
Dick and Regina welcome you to their historic Victorian/Karoo guesthouse (circa 1865).which has 5 luxury air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, private entrances, patios, tea and coffee trays, safes, overhead fans, heaters, hairdryers, electric blankets, Satellite Television and Bar fridges.
The five garden bedrooms have spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains.
The self-catering two bed room one bathroom family flat with lounge and a most unusual private bar displaying Boer war memorabilia. Private patio and Barbeque facility.
A full English, Continental and Health breakfast is served under the vines on the patio or in the spacious Victorian dining room.
The Residents lounge in the main building has a reference library.
Guest can relax in our park like garden with Swimming pool and stunning views of the nearby Swartberg Mountains.
Laundry, fax and e-mail service. Safe off road parking. Local and South African history a speciality.
Situated centrally, we are within walking distance to all the restaurants and places of interest.
We are keen hikers and know the surrounding mountains intimately. We will guide guests on request.
We are fluent in German and French.

The full breakfast was served in gracious surroundings. Very centrally situated in the town - everything within walking distance. It is so encouraging to see many little shops and restaurants gradually reviving after lockdown. This lodge is a true little gem in that part of the Karoo. "
