Tawni Safari Lodge is Luxury Game Lodge hidden away on almost 1000ha of unspoiled bushveld and is only 3 hours from Gauteng, based 30 km from Polokwane (once Pietersburg) the capital of South Africa’s Limpopo Province. Near to the Gateway International Airport just north of the city.
The climate here is conducive to outdoor living, making the lodge the perfect hideout, away from the everyday buzz.
Summers are warm to hot with the occasional refreshing late afternoon thunderstorm, whereas winters are warm to cooler sunny days and cool starry nights, making an ideal backdrop for safari stories around the campfire. Tawni Safari Lodge offers pristine bushveld with breath taking views, lookout points over waterholes to cater for every outdoor enthusiast and bird watcher. This diverse terrain is home to the Lion, Buffalo, Sable Antelope, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland, Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartbeest and many other antelope species as well as an abundant variety of bird species. The lodge lends itself to luxury accommodation in the bush with a difference and offers welcome drinks on arrival as well as evening turn down. All rooms are ensuite with coffee stations and guest amenities. We offer a restaurant with seating under the lapa or around the boma under the trees. There is a bar for sun-downers or early morning coffee and real South African rusks. All rooms are surrounding the Rock Pool and beautiful gardens and conference/function venue. Perfect for lounging around on a lazy sunny afternoon and relaxing in the African sun or in the cool shades of the beautiful trees. At Tawni Safari Lodge we pride ourselves on attention to detail, flexibility and great hospitality. For the bush enthusiast, there are a variety of activities on offer at Tawni Safari Lodge, whether it be that early morning drive or sun-downer game drive, guided bush walk, bird watching in and around the lodge, or whether you simply treat yourselves to a champagne bush breakfast, picnic lunch or exclusive bush braai under the African night sky! We have it all and more – The beauty is in the nature of it!
Tawni Safari Lodge spared no attention to detail. All our rooms are designed and decorated with hand crafted furniture and decorations, high quality linen and appliances. We can accommodate large groups and families or small groups and couples. We have various double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms with bunk beds for the kids and larger group accommodation rooms. All the rooms and suites are facing the rock/waterfall pool and central garden with walkways through the garden connecting you to all the facilities. Tawni Safari Lodge also has a unique morning wake-up call. Our two male and two female lions are located only a few meters from the lodge and at sun rise and sun set their roars echo throughout the lodge.
