The chalets are separate from the main lodge building and tucked away privately in the surrounding forested environment.
The main lodge complex includes a reception, a lounge with a stunning view of the lake as well as a dining room and bar lounge.
Meals are most often taken outside on the terrace where every night the staff light a fire ( in winter ) and guests can share a few stories of their day.The accommodation at the Lodge consists of two romantic Honeymoon Chalets, two Family Chalet (with extra space for the kids) and eight Standard Chalets.
Each chalet is an A-frame structure providing plenty of light, constructed of timber with a thatch roof and are among the mature indigenous trees which make for a beautiful wilderness setting. The chalets are all comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated.

Description:
There are two luxuriously appointed honeymoon suites tucked away in a forested ravine just a short walk from the main lodge. These thatched chalets are made with natural materials on an open plan design with a large deck and slide away doors to take advantage of the beautiful forest surrounds.
With a King size bed and a suspended mosquito net the room exudes a romantic atmosphere in a natural setting. A Victorian bath is on one side of the main room with views into a tangle of giant trees and pristine forest. There is also a separate shower and toilet and a double basin vanity area. The room is fully air-conditioned and a drinks service is available to the room from the main lodge bar.

Description:
The family chalet is open plan and ideal for small toddler’s and kid’s sharing with parents. There are two family chalets specially designed for a family with two small children.
These open plan thatched chalets have a double bed arrangement for parents and a dormer set off to one side with two single children's’ beds.
There is a drawable curtain to separate the children’s beds from the rest of the room. There is an en suite shower with a double basin vanity area and a separate toilet. The chalet has a substantial luggage rack and storage area as well as a cupboard. The chalet is air-conditioned and equipped with mosquito nets during the summer months. There is a large deck off the front of each chalet with comfortable chairs and a coffee table and in the chalet is a tea and coffee tray.

Description:
The standard chalets sleep two adults comfortably and are separately located in the surrounding forest garden. Each of the eight standard chalets are built on stilts with thatch roofs and wooden decks. Each room is accessed via a wooden ramp leading onto a covered wooden deck appointed with comfortable chairs and a coffee table.
Double glass doors and a glass-fronted apex above the entrance facilitate a well-illuminated environment with views out into the forest. The chalets are fully air-conditioned with queen-sized beds and an en suite shower, separate toilet and vanity area. The chalets are spread about the forested garden environment and within the forest canopy affording a cool and relaxing atmosphere at all times.

Mkhulu’s House is a private homestead just away from Hluhluwe River Lodge and tucked up in its own secret forest. The house sleeps 4 people in two en suite rooms and is ideal for a family of 4 or two couples wishing to self cater in the privacy of their own environment.
There is swimming pool and a lovely entertainment area on the deck complete with a superb view. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a gas barbecue for outside cooking. This private two bedroom home is 200 meters from the main lodge and is ideal for a family of four or two couples. A fully equipped kitchen means that you can self cater and book meals at extra cost at the main lodge restaurant. There is a swimming pool set in the garden and a large deck at the front of the house with an expansive view of the Hluhluwe River and floodplain. The deck is ideal for outdoor dinners with an outdoor counter and braai area. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas hob fridge freezer as well as a dishwasher.
