The luxurious and intimate Ivory Wilderness River Rock Lodge lies deep within the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. The reserve itself shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and the Timbavati Game Reserve, which means wildlife roams freely throughout. In true pioneer style, there are only five Luxury Rondaval chalets, intimately tucked below riverine trees and looking onto the river in a Kruger-classic style.
Offering intimate safaris for groups of four to six, enjoy a personalized experience from beginning to end. A sparkling swimming pool adorns the River where guests can birdwatch, observe elephants and lap up the tranquillity of this uncrowded, pristine reserve. Don’t be surprised if you wake up to the echoing roar of lions reverberating through the valley!
Rooms are luxurious historic Rondavel chalets. Each chalet is tastefully decorated in a modern, minimalist style with rustic hints of old Africa. The rooms have bedside lights, a standing fan, bookshelf and chairs. Each chalet sleeps two people in either extra-king, queen or twin beds. Ensuite bathroom with toilet, bath and shower. All natural, luxury bathroom amenities are provided. Main lodge area has a lounge/library section with couches. Open boma area with outdoor seating, fire-pit and private sitting and dining tables. Swimming overlooking the Klaserie River complete with sun loungers. Al fresco lounge and bar areas. Wi-Fi available in lodge area.
Morning & evening safari drives, morning and/or afternoon walking trails, birdwatching, stargazing, bush breakfasts (on request) and bush dinners (on request). Sundowners at various scenic locations. Sleep out experience under the stars (on request). Walk an African wilderness trail with the chance of encountering some of the largest and most charismatic to the smallest and most delicate creatures of the Greater Kruger. Trails average between 3 and 9km in distance, bearing in mind guest fitness levels and trail activity. Sit back on one of our driving safaris, a great way to get closer to some of the larger game and fantastic for photographic opportunities. Our driving safaris will also often take you to different, selected locations for a walking trail or to a perfect sun-downer spot. Experience a luxury wilderness sleep out in the African bush. Connect with nature around a fire and below the endless starry sky, yet with the comforts of a luxury bush-bed for your slumber.
Please note:
* We regret no children under the age of 5.
* Booking amount does not include Klaserie Private Nature Reserve Levies or the Incheni Gate fee.
* Client shall be responsible for informing Ivory Wilderness of any bookings, confirmations, booking amendments, or cancellations of rooms or services by e-mail. The onus of proof of delivery in this regard will be on the client.
* Provisional bookings will be held as follows: No. of days before travel No. of days held 30 days or more before arrival: 7 days. Less than 30 days before arrival: 3 days.
* Upon expiry of the above provisional periods Ivory Wilderness reserves the right to release reservations, unless requested in writing by the client to extend the provisional period. The extension of any provisional period will be at the sole discretion of Ivory Wilderness.
* In the event Ivory Wilderness receives a confirmed reservation request against space being held on a provisional basis by the client, Ivory Wilderness reserves the right to request confirmation or release of the held space within 72 hours.
* Upon confirmation it will be required to disclose the guest’s nationality and booking information, this information will solely be used for market data purposes and tailoring the guest’s stay with Ivory Wilderness.
* Confirmed space will be subject to the appropriate cancellation and payment policies.
* A booking is only held on a provisional basis until a deposit has been paid.
* The amounts required to confirm a booking are as follows: Tour operators/Agents are required to pay a 30% deposit within 7 days to confirm a reservation, with the balance due payable at 45 days before the guest’s arrival.
* Balance of payment is due 45 days prior to arrival.
* All electronic transfers should be made in full and free of any bank charges.
* Cancellation of all bookings must be in writing and is only effective on receipt of the written notification.
* Reservations held by Ivory Wilderness where no deposit has been paid will be cancelled by Ivory Wilderness on notice to the Client.
* Requests to reduce or waiver cancellation fees from the Client will be considered with the decision made at the discretion of Ivory Wilderness.
