Built in 1938 by designer builder, Thomas Wiersma as a gift for his daughter, Catherine. This unusual Art Deco style building resembles a ship's wheelhouse, due to her love of the sea and is presently owned and run by his great grand-daughter, Erica Wiersma.
We run on Solar Power, harvest rain water, reuse grey water and recycle - doing our best to use all resources sustainably.

Set in a large garden with secure parking, heated pool and magnificent mountain views the Guesthouse is ideally situated close to both Newlands Cricket & Rugby Stadiums, 2 major Golf Courses and is located near the University of Cape Town, Cape Town International Airport and a short walk to the Red Cross Children's Hospital. It is a mere 8km drive into the city and the V&A Waterfront.
Well worth the visit...if only for the genuine hospitality!
