Amani is a dream come true, offering discerning guests a place in nature with amazing views on the mountains and valleys, as well as the Mpumalanga Parks Board dams. We are situated on the border of the town, very close to restaurants, shops, doctors and whatever services needed.
The word "Amani" is a Swahili word that means "Peace" or "Tranquillity".
On offer are various options ranging from ultra-luxurious Honeymoon Suites with spa baths, to Family Units. The spacious rooms have access to DSTV, wireless internet, complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities and other guest amenities. You will hopefully experience this tranquillity in the privacy of your room, or as you stroll past the grazing horses; walk past the dams and watch the Blessbuck and rich bird life. You may hear the call of Fish Eagles and see them circling high above the dams.
Lydenburg is an important centre for farming, and is also home to one of Mpumalanga's best museums detailing the mysterious history of the famed Lydenburg Heads, which are unique pottery masks made by a vanished people thousands of years ago, and believed to have served a ritual or religious purpose. The Lydenburg heads are one of the earliest known forms of African sculpture in Southern Africa and are dated at between AD500 and AD800. There are seven hollow terracotta sculptures which are named after the site at which they were discovered in the late 1950s.
