Gecko Rock Private Nature Reserve is nestled in the Nougaspoort Valley, just 25 km from Touwsrivier, and offers visitors an eco-adventure destination.
Our mission at Gecko Rock is to offer our visitors an unparalleled outdoor experience in the South African Karoo - one of the most unique natural areas on earth.
The scope of activities on offer at this special place, where the emphasis is on preservation of the environment, is sure to hold an attraction for everyone.
The list of options includes:
* Camping.
* Hiking.
* Guided 4x4 and 4x2 routes as well as driver training.
* Rock climbing.
* Mountain biking.
* Customised team building events and conference facilities.
* Flower and succulent tours.
* Bird watching.
* Star gazing.
* Or, simply relaxing in an unhurried retreat far away from cell phones and city stress.
Please note:
* Refundable breakage deposit is required.
* A minimum stay over weekends and linked to public holidays is applicable.
* No pets allowed on the reserve unless specifically agreed beforehand.
* A cleaning service for the Rheboksvlakte Cottage is available at an additional cost.
* Check-in time: 14h00. Check-out time: 11h00. Over weekends there is no check out time.
Please be aware that Gecko Rock is a rural venue. The public gravel roads are not suitable for low slung cars with low profile tyres - such as Mercedes Benz ‘C’ class and BMW 3, 5 and 7 series. We regularly have visitors in Toyota Tazz, VW Golf, Chevy Spark, Hyundai I10 and similar. Any saloon car that is overloaded will scrape on our roads.

Description:
Tranquillity, solitude and panorama wooden cabins.
Our larger cabins are situated alongside De Wets Rus Campsite and comfortably sleep 6 persons. The modern kitchen area has a full size fridge/freezer, 2 plate gas cooker, solar lighting, and a plug to charge electronic device.
Make this your home away from home. A full size stoep with outside table and chairs makes the best of breath-taking views. The braai area is a step down off the deck. All linen (excluding towels) is supplied.
Ablutions are a short walk down a neat path where you have a piping hot shower, basin, mirror and toilet. Parking for your vehicle right next to the cabin.
Please note: No hairdryers, kettles, heaters etc. to be used in these cabins.
What to bring:
• Braai wood, firelighters & matches.
• Torch.
• Enough fuel (nearest petrol station – 30km Touwsrivier).
• Toilet paper.
• Bath towels.
• Binoculars.
• Clothes for warm & cold weather.
• Toiletries.
• First aid kit, insect repellent.

Description:
Rhebokvlakte Cottage is fully equipped for self-catering, and offers a very private stay. Situated in a panoramic valley the cottage promises a front row seat to the best sunrise in the Karoo. Of wooden construction, the insulated finish ensures cool days and warm nights.
Designed for two adults, the cottage will accommodate two small children on mattresses inside or just outside the door in a tent, where they can enjoy their own adventure. Cottage only rented for less than 2 nights from Sunday to Thursday.
You will need:
• Braai wood, firelighters & matches.
• Torch.
• Enough fuel (nearest petrol station – 30km – Touwsrivier).
• Binoculars.
• Enough warm clothes (nights are cold/days are warm).
• Toiletries.
• First aid kit, insect repellent.
Please note: displayed rate is for 2 guests. Additional guests pay extra. There is also a refundable damage deposit. Cottage only rented for less than 2 nights from Sunday to Thursday.
