The Sleeping Bao B&B was established about 12 years ago in the heart of Pietermaritzburg in one of the city's preeminent residential areas. The luxury accommodation is situated less than 5 minutes of the Johannesburg - Durban highway, with easy access to all local amenities and central to the numerous events hosted by in and around the city.

We are also a perfect spring board to explore the famous Midland's Meanders and the surrounding inherent attractions, with the Indian Ocean and Drakensburg mountains in easy striking distance.
The Sleeping Bao is a beautiful face brick structure with a rich wood interior and a history spanning over 70 years. Situated in country like settings, it is a mere 3 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from Oribi Airport.
Rooms are, fully furnished rooms overlooking well established gardens. Rooms have air conditioning / fans, all rooms are fully heated in winter. Each of the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and TV’s.
Guests have full access to the swimming pool. A braai area around the pool is also available for use.
