Wild among the wine! Nestled at the foot of the Franschhoek Mountain Range, lies Franschhoek Country Cottages on Excelsior farm's private reserve. Comfortable, self-catering cottages are surrounded by game, for a little on the wild side.
Awake to zebra, springbok, gemsbok and wildebeest strolling past your own private verandah that overlooks the watering hole.
Each open-plan double suite cottage consists of a:
• Large bedroom with a king-sized bed or 2 single beds – sleeps maximum 2 adults or extra single/cot on request.
• Ensuite bathroom with toilet, bath* and shower & basin (except larger cottage 4 with shower suite).
• A lounge with log burning fire for cold nights.
• Self-contained galley kitchen and breakfast bar.
• Wall Heaters in each lounge and bedroom area.
• Beds have overhead fans for the hotter summer days.
• Private veranda with BBQ (Braai).
This fertile valley once enabled elephant to rear their young in ‘Elephant Corner,’ which was renamed the ‘French corner’ – Franschhoek, when French Huguenots settled here over 330 years ago.
