Set as a tranquil oasis on a working farm midway between Heilbron and Frankfort in the Northern Free State, Francolin Creek portrays a humble mix of true South African history and modern accommodation. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa has graded Francolin Creek as a four-star lodge.
As a four-star lodge, Francolin Creek offers all the luxurious ingredients of a great weekend retreat, with an inviting hint of traditional South African hospitality.
We have 14 double bedrooms, all of which include an ensuite bathroom as well as a Bush camp with 4 safari tents, sleeping 8 guests. If all rooms are occupied, and guests are sharing, Francolin Creek can comfortably sleep 36 guests. Icy winter nights are made warm, charming and romantic as every room has adequate heating facilities. The rooms are all serviced daily. Enjoy fully catered delicious, traditional farm cuisine when you book in at the guest house; alternatively, the option of self-catering is available when you retreat to the tented camp. The lodge offers a cosy wine cellar, Cattleman’s bar, two lounge areas with a roaring fireplace and a full function venue for the bigger parties. As Francolin Creek is a lodge on a vast Free State farm, it goes without saying that the views and surroundings are breath-taking and magnificent. The lodge has been proven as an ideal retreat for groups of friends or families looking for a special breakaway to spend quality time together in an intimate setting, while still offering individual privacy in the comfortable, fully appointed rooms. Main Lodge Fully Catered: Includes all meals (brunch, light afternoon meal & dinner). Rooms serviced daily. Full use of the communal lodge facilities (Bar & lounge are as well as the various outside seated areas).
Bush Camp Fully Catered: Includes all meals (brunch, light afternoon meal & dinner). Luxury Tents with a double bed & full linen with a communal bathroom. Full use of the Bush Camp Facilities. Communal areas serviced daily.
Bush Camp Self-Catering: Includes the facilities to prepare your own meals (fully stocked with cooking equipment, cutlery & crockery). Luxury Tents with a double bed & full linen with a communal bathroom. Full use of the Bush Camp Facilities. Communal areas serviced daily.
Francolin Creek has the full facilities and expert ability to cater for a range of function requirements for up to 140 guests. We welcome all weddings, birthday celebrations and any other function you might require. We also offer conferencing facilities, perfect for a staff team-building stay-over, and for the entertaining of clients for up to 60 people per day. The beautiful reception hall at Francolin Creek is ideal for a wedding with up to 140 guests. Bar & alcohol full bar facilities are available – and you can choose whether to run an open or a cash bar service. A large variety of wines and sparkling wines are available for purchase.

* No smoking in rooms/communal area.
* Regrettably, no pets are allowed at Francolin Creek.
* Game Drives are available on prior arrangement, where guests can enjoy a host of antelope sightings (ten game species). Some of the species include Gemsbuck; Springbuck; Waterbuck; Blesbuck; Hartebeest and Zebra.
