Set in the scenic majesty of the Ukhahlamba – Drakensberg World Heritage Site in the Champagne Valley of the Central Drakensberg. The Nest Drakensberg Mountain Resort Hotel is an ideal place to explore this unique part of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The area was declared a World Heritage Site in December 2000 in recognition of the astounding natural and cultural richness of this beautiful part of South Africa.
The Nest is well known for our tasty South African country cooking and relaxing accommodation set in our gardens. We have simple Garden Rondavels, Premier Garden Rooms and Mountain View Rooms. There are two 150 m2 Executive Suites that offer a large bedroom with king size bed, vanity area, bathroom with shower, his & hers basins and Jacuzzi bath. Each Suite has a generous lounge with fireplace, flat screen TV, DSTV, air conditioning, mini bar and many other great features
We offer a host of activities, such as daily guided hikes, bowls, tennis, croquet, horse-riding, large screen DSTV lounge and much more. Our beautiful colonial verandah is the best berg location to witness a spectacular African sunset over the mighty Drakensberg. The surrounding area is home to the world famous Drakensberg Boys Choir, Ardmore Pottery Studio, excellent bird watching, arts and crafts, golf and the fascinating Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey Sanctuary. The nearby Spionkop Nature Reserve offers an idyllic wildlife experience. Also popular are the many Anglo-Boer War Battle Sites in our region that show great insight into this famous period of our history.
Rates include all three meals of tasty South African country cooking, morning and afternoon tea and coffee on our veranda, VAT and applicable tourism levies.
