Hannic's Retreat is situated in the tranquil village of Clarens, in the Free State. Surrounded by the Maluti Mountains and Golden Gate National Park, it's the ideal setting for a weekend away from the city.
We offer luxurious self-catering accommodation that will feel like your home away from home.
Centrally located between Johannesburg, Durban and Bloemfontein, it is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway.
Our graceful and comfy cottage has 3 bedrooms:
The main bedroom has a standard queen size double bed with an en-suite heated bathroom with a shower and a bath. It also has a wooden cottage pane door leading onto the veranda.
The second bedroom has a standard queen size double bed also with a wooden cottage pane door leading onto the veranda.
The third bedroom has two standard single beds. Bedroom 2 & 3 share a private bathroom with a bath and a shower with a separate toilet.
The living area is open plan and includes a lounge, dining room and kitchen. The lounge boasts with a gas-fired log fireplace. The television with DSTV is also in the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped for six people and includes a combination fridge/freezer, a microwave oven, as well as a four plated stove with oven. There is a built-in braai facility on the veranda and also a single lock-up garage on the side of the house.
All beds have electric blankets and each bedroom has under carpet heating for those cold winter evenings.
There is a large number of activities on offer in and around Clarens. Starting from horseback riding/trails, quad biking, and hiking/wilderness trails. Trout fishing, golf, river rafting, abseiling and mountain trails, but to name a few. In the winter you might even find snow on the high lying areas.

***A minimum booking of two nights over weekends and three/four nights on long-weekends is required.
