Katima Mulilo
Tented Camp, Self Catering
(8
rooms)
(1 customer review)
Situated in a small riverine forest, Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite lies on the banks of a tranquil backwater of the Zambezi River, approximately 24km east of Katima Mulilo.
A variety of accommodations include open air ensuite self-catering tents, ensuite chalets, and a campsite. For those not wishing to cater for themselves, meals are available in the restaurant.
Each of our rooms have been fitted out with brand new bed linen, mosquito nets, fans and lamps. We have electrical power in all the rooms (3 pronged plugs). The three tents have a separate sharing kitchen with a fridge, gas burner, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, table and benches and barbeque/braai. Only in the chalets do we have fridges and tea/coffee facilities. Four of the chalets offer an outside kitchenette with a gas burner, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, table, chairs and a barbeque/braai.
Facilities on offer includes a bar and restaurant, small seating area with books & games; and access to Wi-Fi. Surrounding the restaurant is a large wooden deck, with a fire pit, offering stunning lake views. There is also a small swimming pool for those wishing to cool off on sweltering hot days. Also on offer are a variety of activities. Bicycles are available for guests wishing to explore the surrounding bush and forest areas. Guests can row out on canoes to view crocodiles, hippos and the myriad of birds the lake has to offer. Boat outings are also on offer for fishing, sundowners and bird viewing. Fishing is done from either our boats on the lagoon, or organised for on the main Zambezi River through other lodges. The arrays of fish that can be caught include tiger fish, barbel, pike, a variety of bream and other lesser-known species. Caprivi Mutoya supports catch and release. For those only wanting to relax, nature watching can be done from the restaurant deck overlooking the water. Nature walks can also be taken around the lodge and within the surrounding forests. Trips to view Southern Africa’s largest Carmine Bee Eater’s colony can also be arranged. Day tours can be organised to either Bwabwata National Park in Namibia, Chobe National Park in Botswana or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
