Bokmakierie House is a spacious home that offers three double rooms with ensuite shower facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. The view from our veranda is over the village to the surrounding mountains. You can walk around the village, climb the mountain or choose a hiking trail on a nearby farm, or just relax, read a novel or unwind and recharge.
We are situated in the picturesque village of Smithfield on the Friendly N6 route approximately 80 km north from Aliwal North and 120 km south of Bloemfontein.
Facilities for golf, tennis and bowls are available. There is game viewing in the area and farm walks to view rock art can be arranged. Places of historical interest may also be visited.

Art pieces from the owner's private collection are displayed strategically across the walls. When enjoying our rooms you are greeted with infused scents of ginger and white tea which leave our guests feeling rested and rejuvenated. Each room offers coffee and tea facilities with home baked treats. Guests are welcome to enjoy private stoep areas to relax on, read a book or simply enjoy the beautiful southern Free State scenery surrounding our beautiful village.

"The accommodation is gorgeous – stunning, solid old architecture and beautiful furnishings. The only thing I could suggest is that the owners consider aircon?
