The Hooting Owl Guest House is a unique African thatch bush-veld lodge. This hidden jewel was custom-built to blend harmoniously into its surroundings. We are located in Marina Beach, on the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast, 180Km south from Durban’s King Shaka International Airport.
We have a 2, a 6 or an 8 sleeper self-catering unit available on the same premises.
Each unit has a separate entrance with its own kitchen & braai facilities.
There is safe parking inside the perimeter of the premises for up to eight vehicles. Guests will receive a remote control for the gate to gain easy access during their stay. All guest areas are covered by an in-house alarm system linked to Armed Response. No toiletries or guest amenities will be supplied.

Description:
The self-contained guest cottage is double storey, which can accommodate up to a maximum of eight people. On the ground floor is the master bedroom with a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom, which also boasts an outside shower area in a secluded garden.
The second bedroom, also with a queen-size bed, shares the second bathroom with the upstairs dorm room. Upstairs, there is a very spacious dorm room with four three-quarter sized single beds.
The open plan kitchen/dining/TV lounge area completes the downstairs floor plan. The TV has open view HD with or a DSTV Dish connection. Guests must supply the decoder and equipment to activate DSTV. The kitchen is fully fitted with counter top stove, under counter oven, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. The unit has utensils and crockery for eight people.
Bedding, bed linen, hand towels and bath towels are supplied. Guests must bring their own pool/beach towels.

The Scops-Owl suite has its own entrance via a private patio, which is ideal for a sundowner or braai (barbeque) under our huge Natal Mahogany tree. The suite has rustic features in a modern style with a queen size bed and an en-suite glass shower.
A small fitted kitchen, with stove, microwave, toaster, and all utensils and crockery.
There is a small dining nook and TV area with Open View HD or DSTV Dish connection. Guests must supply the decoder and equipment to activate DSTV. This unit is ideal for a couple on an intimate getaway weekend. Bedding, bed linen, hand towels and bath towels are supplied. Guests must bring their own pool/beach towels.
The unit also has a ceiling fan, hair dryer, ironing board and iron.

Description:
Each of the three bedrooms contains a queen-sized bed, bedside tables with lamps, dressing table with stool, wardrobe hanging space and a drawer unit. All rooms have an en-suite rock effect shower, a rock effect wash basin and a toilet.
We provide bed linen hand and bath towels.
Pool/beach towels are not supplied, so please bring your own if required. There is a large comfortable TV lounge adjoining the fully fitted kitchen, both overlooking the pool area. The kitchen is equipped with cutlery, utensils and crockery for six people. The main appliances are gas and electric counter top hotplates, double oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and dishwasher.
There is a very spacious dining room with four and eight seat tables and chairs, seating 16 in total. There is access to the kitchen from the dining room via a retractable locking hatch shutter. The dining room is also conveniently located close to the under cover braai/barbecue area.
