Kingfisher's Nest is rented out as a UNIT with 4 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, Sleeps 10 . We take only one booking at a time:
It is situated in a quiet area in George which is aptly called, Eden. It is situated in the Eastern part of town and very near to the Garden Route Dam and at the foot of the beautiful Outeniqua mountain range.
You can also walk to the Garden Route Dam.
The accommodation consists of 4 bedrooms on the ground floor level and can house 10 people.
Bedroom 1 comprises 2 single beds (twin) with a showerette that is fitted with a shower and washbasin. The toilet is in a seperate room.
Bedroom 2 features 2 single beds and a bunk bed suited to accommodate 4 guests. There is access to the garden and deck from this room. You also have a tv in this room.
Room 3 is also come equipped with 2 single beds (twin) and has a lovely view of the garden and mountains.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 shares a huge bathroom that is fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and washbasin.
Room 4 has 2 single beds (twin) and its own en-suite bathroom that is fitted with bath, shower, toilet and washbasin.
The units also feature a very large kitchen, lounge area with wood fireplace, dining room. The kitchen comes equipped with gas cooking hob and electric oven. The dining room has seating for 8 people and the kitchen has 6 bar stools that can seat extra guests. Off the kitchen is a scullery with washing machine and dishwasher and double kitchen sink.
Double doors open onto a huge patio (deck) area with a built-in braai where you can spend many an hour enjoying the view.
Secure parking is available behind electronic gates.
The Eden area in George is a quiet peaceful area where you hear the FieryNecked Nightjar calling almost every night. We are very near the mountain and also the Garden Route dam. A lovely walking trail starts near Kingfisher's Nest. We have shops within walking distance from the house and the shopping mall is about 2km away. There is also the town's bus service, Go George busses, bus stops within walking distance from the house. We are only 8km away from the nearest beach, Victoria Bay with the other beaches ranging 12 to 25 km from us.
George is very central to: the Karoo -Oudtshoorn 45kms, the lovely town of Knysna 55kms and Mosselbay 55kms away.
2. Two rooms, room 1, Earth room, with ensuite bathroom and room 2, Sky room, with private bathroom across the passage.
Kingfisher Flat:
The unit is on top of the garage and only accessible by a staircase entrance. It has 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and also 2 single beds in the spacious living area. Percale linen or same quality cotton bedding is used. Bath towels are of good quality. There is TV with full DSTV HD package as well as a DVD player. The TV also has a USB port. The kitchen is fully equipped for 4 people with a stove with oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The comfortable bathroom has a shower. There is a patio that offers beautiful views and a braai area. There is also a bedouin style shade net to keep cool. Air-conditioning is available for guests' own account, prepaid electricity. There is a private entrance and parking is safe behind electronic security gates.
The Rooms:
Accommodation comprises 2 bedrooms, which can be booked separately, or together for a group. These rooms are furnished with twin beds.
Earth Room has an ensuite bathroom.
Sky Room has a bathroom across the passage.
Both bathrooms are very spacious and is fitted with a shower, bath, basin and toilet. The rooms and bathrooms are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair but you will need someone to help you with shower and bath. Surfaces are mainly flat and there are only two steps to go outside on the patio.
Good quality percale linen are used and good quality towels are supplied.
Guests have access to a communal kitchen that is well-equipped to prepare and cook meals, as well as a shared lounge with a TV that has full DSTV channels. Outside, there is secure parking behind electronic gates available for vehicles.
Kingfisher's Nest Self-catering is a short drive from various shops, restaurants, nature reserves and beaches for guests to explore in the area.
