New Rush Guest House (De Beers Group)
Kimberley
Guest house
(13
units)
Now you can stay over in the Old Town at the Big Hole and experience the Diamond City as it was 100 years ago! Accommodation in Kimberley will never be the same again! Experience luxurious lodging at the brand new New Rush Guesthouse in the heart of the Old Town in Tucker Street. This original “tin” house was relocated from 19 Tucker Street to where it now stands.
The house dates back to 1878 and was owned by the Holmes family until they sold it to a Mr Binyon who in turn sold it in 1913 when the Yeowart family moved in. The Yeowart family, one of whom resided here until 1973, sold the building to the Museum in 1975. The original Mr Harold Holmes (of Holmes' Garage) was born in this house in 1904, the doctor in attendance at his birth being Dr EO Ashe (his surgery forms part of the displays in the Old Town).
In-Room facilities include: Wi-Fi, air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, bath and/or shower, mirror, desk, sitting area, linen, and towels.
Go for a tour through the Big Hole Museum in the main building, and see the biggest man-made hole in the world as well as the world's largest diamond display with more than 3600 diamonds on display. Have a walk-about in the Old Town and experience what Kimberley looked like more than 100 years ago. Try your hand playing skittles in the Skittle Alley. Search for "diamonds" at the Diamond Dig. Experience one of Kimberley's oldest forms of transport that is still running today by going on a trip on the tram. Visit the Occidental Bar (old time pub) where you can enjoy both liquid refreshments and a good meal, with live music entertainment on some evenings. Visit a variety of shops (in the main building) for that special gift or souvenir.
Please note:
* Children aged between 0 and 2 stay free.
