Safari Lodge:
St Lucia Safari Lodge has the best of both worlds. It is on the main road of the town of St Lucia, close to amenities, restaurants and shops, but a few minutes’ drive from the wonders of the wetlands. St Lucia Safari Lodge is the ideal spot to base your holiday travels from or just come and stay with us for a few days to unwind and enjoy life at a slower pace.
Get away from the hustle and bustle of the rat-race and savour the sunny, relaxed lifestyle in an exotic setting with a hundred and one indigenous experiences to enjoy, whether it's exploring neighbouring game reserves and viewing the Big Five or a low-key day at the beach fishing and soaking up the rays.
St Lucia Safari Lodge is surrounded by a host of other guesthouses, restaurants and shops for a truly well-rounded holiday experience, let alone culinary. One is guaranteed a varied and relaxing stay in the heart of St. Lucia, tourism Mecca of the Elephant Coast in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Self-Catering Chalets:
St Lucia Safari Lodge offers self-catering chalets, with hair dryer, free Wi-Fi, and ensuite bathrooms with a bath and shower. Each chalet has its own private balcony with braai facilities and secure parking bay, television with selected DSTV channels.
The lodge provides all linen; please bring your own towels (bath + beach) as this is not provided.
A refundable breakage deposit of R300.00 is required on arrival.
Bed & Breakfast Rooms:
We offer serviced bed & breakfast units with a bar fridge, coffee making facilities, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi, complimentary toiletries, bath towels (no beach towels are provided) and ensuite bathrooms with a shower. Television with selected Dstv channels
All Units Offer::
All units are equipped with air conditioning, hair dryers and dedicated geysers. Braai / barbecue facilities are available on request for Bed + Breakfast units. The lodge has a sparkling swimming pool with a luxury lapa where meals can be enjoyed.
Activities:
The complex is ideal for tour groups and families. While staying with us, we can make sure that you get to enjoy the best that the Wetland Park has to offer. Explore the lake on a hippo cruise, take a safari to the Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Big Five Reserve, go deep sea fishing or do whale and dolphin watching. There are walking trails, turtle tours, night drives and beach adventures.
There is a world of wonder waiting for you in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands World Heritage Site. We'll help you find it. St. Lucia - a very special slice of Africa, the greater St Lucia Wetland Park offers eco tourists some of the most diverse wildlife and outdoor experiences imaginable. For this reason it was declared a World Heritage Site in December 1999.
The lake and surrounding area, as well as the wetlands surrounding it, teems with hippos, crocodiles and many other wild animals. Birds include fish eagles, hornbills, Goliath herons, paddle-billed storks, green pigeons, Loerie's (3 species), narina, trogons etc. It is probably South Africa's best bird viewing area with over 520 species having been identified here.
Unspoilt beaches, on which turtles lay their eggs, stretch for many hundreds of kilometers northward. Cape Vidal offers excellent snorkeling, protected swimming and your drive through Cape Vidal takes you through a game park with hikes, viewpoints, sub-tropical forest and bush.
The Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Park which is known as the Rhino Park of the world is approximately a 40 minute drive from St Lucia. You can expect to find the "Big Five" and many more.
