Set against the gentle backdrop of grassy Bushveld savannahs is this stately country house. Sondela Nature Reserve in Limpopo Province is long established and well known for its outstanding qualities in the hospitality industry.
Sprawled over 4000 hectares of pristine Bushveld, the reserve is host to a variety of antelope such as Zebra, Nyala, Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest and more.
The recent addition of the Sondela Country House adds a further dimension to the reserves already versatile accommodation profile, which include beautifully appointed self-catering chalets and a pristine caravan park.
The rich, earthy colours of the tasteful décor, is the first to attack the senses as one steps into Sondela Country House. 7 Individually decorated bedrooms each feature a unique luxury that not only include beautiful furnishings, but also treats such as private outdoor showers or baths, whilst the honeymoon suite offers a private garden and Jacuzzi. Each room opens onto lovely manicured gardens, with views of the homestead fields and vineyards. We were greeted by the Butler upon our arrival and assured that we are their guests and that they want us to relax! Wow, how prophetic these words turned out to be! Our room was immaculate, stylishly furnished and the luxurious (private) outside bath an experience to behold! The service was amazing, the dinner and breakfasts were scrumptious and perfectly prepared for us and the venue with all its activities on offer (and setting in the beautiful South African bush ) was exactly what we needed.
I can honestly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a special, pampered breakaway in absolute luxury. Thank you Sondela Country House, we will see you again.
