North Lodge is easy to find on a direct route 10 minutes to Durban CBD, beachfront, Ushaka, stadium, ICC, airport, harbour and more. Save money and choose us for safe, affordable, self-catering accommodation with permanent generator backup.
All Durban's business and leisure attractions are within 15 minutes of your spacious air conditioned cottages and suites in the attractive, leafy suburb of Durban North.
Airport is less than 25 minutes and freeway only 5 minutes, plus you can park safely right next to your unit for free.
Although the quick route to us is a short drive through light industry along R102/Chris Hani Road, you will find that our location alongside a main road into the CBD and beaches is a big time saver. An alternate, more scenic route winds through upmarket Durban North via the M12, but the R102 is faster AND just as safe. Our large garden property offers privacy and security via a private, gated road.
Don’t throw money away on more expensive accommodation if all you really need is clean, safe comfort for the evenings of your active stay. North Lodge offers the same basics as more expensive B&B’s and Guest Houses nearby, but our eco-style, rustic exterior and homely feel makes us a top value-for-money destination. Not luxury, not down market - just a smart choice for travellers on a sensible budget.

All units (not budget) offer free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fans and fully equipped kitchens plus laundry access, plenty hot water, braai facilities, drive-thru access (truck/trailer-friendly) and 2-pin charger plugs built in. On call 24/7 with shuttle service. Things actually work well here.
We are for easy going guests seeking affordable home-from-home living, not upmarket, but if you are "upmarket" with reasonable expectations, please come too!
North Lodge is open 365 days a year, so please forgive us if you encounter minor improvements in progress. Still, expect a pleasant stay that is easy on the pocket. For the lowest rates, make 100% deposit. 50/50 payments attract a 10% surcharge. Our refund and cancellation policy is better than industry standards, and we comply with the Consumer Protection Act - so your money is safe.
