A happy marriage between Africa and the charming Little Karoo awaits your arrival at our pristine, secluded and off-the-grid lodge.
Located just 2.5 hours from Cape Town, on your journey to the north you will end up on the famous Route 62 that will introduce you to a diverse feast of breath-taking mountain scenery, wine farms, farmstalls, restaurants, orchards and finally, the majestic (and award winning) town of Montagu.
Following a 30-kilometre dirt road (approximately a 45-minute drive) towards Touwsriver, you will arrive at African Game Lodge. Worth the journey!
Here, on the 4500 hectares privately owned game reserve, you will be able to immerse yourself in your own thoughts, nature, peace and quiet while sitting on your stoep, having a sundowner and braai, reading a book, or just doing nothing at all.
What makes us unique are the various historically rich remains of inhabitants and archaeological events long before our time. Walking through the landscape and exploring the variety of Karoo plants is any Botanist’s dream.

The animals roam freely and we had many up-close encounters with inquisitive Ostriches and other buck! The rooms were clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and so knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be back."
