Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge is one of the most amazing hideaways in the Western Cape. Set amongst the famous red hills and surrounded by game and nature - a secret place of magnificent views, glorious sunsets, star filled nights without a single city light to distract you, and fabulous food.
If you are looking for a rustic, true African experience then you have come to the right place.
There are four chalets set on a hillside overlooking the valley and one cottage in the dry riverbed. We are surrounded by the famous Enon red hills and look directly onto the magnificent Swartberg Mountains. Each of the chalets has a private deck with armchairs and cushions, each decorated in a different animal theme. We are Tourist Graded 4 star lodge, and we do endeavor to give you all the comforts that you might need, and our guests have definitely rated us 5 star.
The Chalets are set 300m and the Cottage about 50m from the main lodge where we light our nightly fire, eat dinner and breakfast. The animal view from here in the evening is spectacular. This makes every evening a really special occasion. The Chalets are directly linked to our walking trails which take you right up to the hills and valleys and back to your chalet. Our 4th Self Catering Cottage is tucked away in the river bed. It has its own fireplace and is completely secluded from the main lodge and other Chalets - but guests may of course join for breakfast or dinner, as you wish. This is a perfect honeymoon hideaway or for small families.
Private secluded deck overlooking valley, tea/coffee station, ensuite bathroom with shower, mini fridge, bedding and towels provided.
Our 5th chalet has 2 rooms each with Ensuite bathroom, big lounge and kitchen with a fire place in and outside. Although it is also self-catering, most guest prefer to join us for dinner in the main lodge. This chalet can sleep 4 people and with special arrangement we can add an extra bed in the room or even a bunkbed.
All our chalets have air conditioning for heating and cooling. Electronic safe, hair dryer and emergency lights in case of power failure. You get a free bottle of water
On the farm there are a few relaxing activities, swimming, hiking, reading on your deck, watching the animals, and enjoying the scenery. And there are tons of activities we can arrange for you all around us. You can find some of the activities on our website and the rest on the online registration form we will sent you as soon as you booking is confirm.
Please note:
* Children aged between 0 and 1 stay free.
* No smoking in rooms.
* Sorry no pets are allowed as there are wild animals that roam around freely.
* Our dinners are a set menu, usually served around 7pm and we also encourage our guests to interact with each other. We serve homely cooked 3 course meals, all our meat comes off the fire, we do cater for vegetarians and vegans but please inform us before the time.
