Sandstone Chameleon Guest House is situated in the quaint little town of Fouriesburg, in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains. Close to the picturesque Golden Gate National Park and Clarens, "Jewel of the Free State", Sandstone Chameleon Guest House is your gateway to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.
The surrounding natural beauty, particularly the sandstone formations on the road from Fouriesburg to Clarens and the Golden Gate National Park is said to be the most spectacular in South Africa.
Sandstone Chameleon Guest House was built in 1902 and has since been restored into a luxurious and comfortable guest house with thick sandstone walls and Oregon Pine floors. Generous home-style breakfasts are served in the dining room or on the sunny verandah. A huge log fire in the lounge welcomes guests from the winter cold and occasional snow.
We have 6 charmingly decorated ensuite rooms (1 of which has a sleeper couch for little ones under 12 years) and 1 luxurious self-catering apartment with a double bed sleeper couch in the lounge.
All our units have a bath and shower, under-floor heating (apartment has wall and oil heaters instead), electronic safe (not in apartment), fridge, mini bar, satellite TV, tea, coffee and our excellent homemade rusks to be enjoyed on your private patio. We offer a laundry service, secure undercover parking, Internet access and convenient private entrance to each room.
Guests are welcome to use the self-catering braai facility or, if preferred, make use of our top quality braai packs and side dishes.
