Located on the southern bank of the Crocodile River, the Ziziphus River Lodge overlooks the Kruger National Park, and is the perfect place to spot hippopotamus, crocodile, elephant and buffalo—all while you’re having your morning coffee. Ziziphus Lodge sleeps a total of ten people in five separate bedrooms.
Each room is air-conditioned and has an ensuite bathroom with a bath, shower and separate toilet, as well as an outside shower. Each room also has a small fridge and a tea station.
Knob Thorn is the main bedroom, attached to the main lodge with views of the river. It features an outside bath and a king-sized bed.
Pride of the Cape is the second bedroom, also attached to the main lodge, with a view over the river and a king-size bed. Star Chestnut: This is the chalet closest to the main lodge, surrounded by bush, with two single beds that can be configured as a king-size bed if required.
Leadwood is the second chalet, also surrounded by bush, with two single beds that can be configured as a king-size bed if required.
Buffalo Thorn is the third chalet, closest to the parking area. Also surrounded by bush, it has two rooms with two single beds that can be configured as a king-size bed if required. All bedrooms are strictly non-smoking.
Establishment facilities includes: swimming pool, BBQ / braai, DSTV, gym, free Wi-Fi, lounge, TV room and fully equipped kitchen.
Safety Tips :
* The lodge is situated in a Big Five area. Leopards are known to move between the houses after dark so please exercise caution in the evening. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times, especially after dark.
* Snakes are not commonly seen, but they are around. If you do happen to see one, retreat slowly. Contact your guide once you are safe. Species common to the area include the puff adder, black mamba, Mozambique spitting cobra and boomslang, all of which are venomous.
* The lodge is situated in a medium-to-high malaria risk zone. Please consult with your doctor about the recommended precautionary measures.
* The pool is unfenced. A safety net is available upon request. In case of emergency, please proceed to the assembly point, which is marked […]
* Please do not smoke in any of the bedrooms or living spaces. Smoking outside is permitted, but please exercise caution when disposing of ash and stubs. The risk of fire in the area is high, especially in the drier winter months.
* Please only make a fire in the designated braai (i.e., barbecue) area. There is a Weber cooker available if required.
