Bastion Guesthouse, small conference and intimate event venue. Set in the historic village of Irene, the Bastion is a stronghold of good taste, comfort and convenience.
Bastion Guest House, originally the home of the Basson family, was started in 1996 and evolved from a single guest room to the current 8-roomed guest house with a small conference facility.
The structural changes required for the transition to a functional guest house were developed and supervised by the architect who designed the original Basson home.
Our rooms have private entrances and safe off-street parking with 24/7 access. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms and are equipped with DSTV, an equipped mini-kitchen and a workstation with internet connection (24 hrs).
In addition, most rooms have a small outside barbeque facility. We serve a hearty breakfast or a takeaway breakfast box and also provide home-cooked dinners on request. Our conference facility is unique and is located in a tranquil garden setting with a number of break-away benches and a small lapa for tea breaks, etc. The facility accommodates: 38 persons (cinema-style), 24 (schoolroom-style) and 16 in a U-configuration. The conference room is air-conditioned and is a Wi-Fi area. The equipment consists of a data projector with a large screen, white board and flip chart. Ample power outlets are available.
