Camp Bethel is a tented bush camp under the “Place of Rock” Banner offering accommodation in six ensuite tents. Keeping it small and intimate ensures attention to detail, which sets us apart.
Situated on the doorstep of Central Kruger National Park in the Klaserie area, Camp Bethel may be booked as part of a self-drive tour package with tours included or booked as optional or an all-inclusive package which includes airport transfers as well. Tents are positioned in Natural Bush with general game like Zebra, Kudu, Nyala and Impala roaming freely. Leopard spotted on occasions and in the evening the roar of Lion is a familiar sound as the camp is surrounded by Big Five Game Reserves.
Guests are accommodated in canvas safari tents constructed on elevated wooden decks. Tents have corrugated roofing structure to ensure cooler temperatures during hot summer months. For the cozy winter evenings, electric blankets are supplied if necessary. Tent configuration is either twin or king, ensuite with toilet, hand basin and shower.
For a child to share with adults we put a single bed with parents in the same tent.
Three tents are available to accommodate a child with parents. Every tent has a veranda with comfortable chairs and side tables and because of the elevated wooden deck and surrounding trees, the perfect ‘spot’ to enjoy morning coffee and rusks or sundowner drinks. Our dinners are served in our dining area or outdoors, surrounded by log fire and torches to create a real authentic bush feel. We serve traditional food, using local produce. Private bush and in-room dining are arranged on request. For lunch, tables are set in a dry river bed or around the sparkling pool.
We offer Kruger Park full day Safaris with packed picnic lunches which are enjoyed at a designated spot inside Kruger or mid-morning breakfast is served upon arrival back at Camp after a 4 hour Kruger Park morning Safari. Late afternoon Safaris are offered, either in Kruger Park or in a Private Concession area with sun downer drinks and snacks served while watching the sun set in the African Bush. Nature walks are conducted on our premises, where guests explore the smaller things the bush has to offer.
