The Crags, between Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley offers two cottages in Askop Road surrounded by indigenous forest. The Carraighs and Treehouse Cottage are on separate properties. Spectacular views and birdlife. We also offer a cottage overlooking the sea at Keurbooms called Gulls Way.
The Carraighs:
This lovely two-story cottage has a main bedroom downstairs, with a double bed.
The large dining and living area, has DSTV and Wi-Fi. There is a couch/single bed in the lounge for a small child to sleep. The upstairs loft, with separate entrance has a double bed and two single beds, as well as a coffee table and couch which can also be converted into a sleeper couch. The loft has a wooden deck with a beautiful view. However, there is no bathroom upstairs so it is necessary that those sleeping upstairs use the bathroom in the downstairs part of the house. (Naturally we never rent them out separately.) There is also a fully equipped and modern kitchen downstairs, a full bathroom, and braai facilities available next to the swimming pool, as well as a Weber if you would prefer to braai at the cottage. Meals can be enjoyed in the spacious living area.
Treehouse Cottage:
TreeHouse Cottage is situated in Ashlands, which was formerly part of Ashlands Farm. Ashlands is a rural Estate in the indigenous forest, also in Askop Road in the Crags. This cottage is on the property of local artists, who work from home. You are welcome to ask them to see their workshop where they produce their fine art works. The cottage has a kitchenette, with a two-plate stove, microwave and bar fridge. It is a small open-plan cottage with a living area with DSTV and a decoder. There is a double bed and two single beds (suitable for children), and a modern bathroom with a shower. There is also a fan and a heater. There is a charming wooden deck overlooking the indigenous forest, with a weber for barbecue’s. The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and is not serviced except for longer stays. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided as well as toilet paper and soap. Guests must bring anything else they require. All linen is provided, including towels. Treehouse is accessible by a short staircase and is therefore not wheelchair-friendly. Free Wi-Fi.

Please note:
The Carraighs:
***We have dogs and there is a swimming pool with no fence at The Carraighs so please take care with your small children.
***Please note the cottage sleeps 2 / 3 downstairs and 2/3 upstairs but there is an outside staircase to the upstairs bedroom so upstairs is not suitable for younger children or the infirm. The bathroom is downstairs.
***The entrance to The Carraighs is a short drive down a gravel road so please take the opportunity to drive slowly and enjoy the occasional buck or guinea fowl sighting. No 4x4 necessary.
Treehouse Cottage:
***Treehouse Cottage is accessible by a short staircase only.
***Not wheelchair friendly.
***No smoking inside at either cottage please!
