Experience true South African hospitality in luxury thatched accommodation in the heart of the Great Karoo, Graaff-Reinet.
The Whyte House is filled with antiques, personal memorabilia and beautiful art pieces.
During 2014 we came across and purchased an isolated plot with the most magnificent views of the Sneeuberg Mountains.
In 2015 we assembled a team of locals and started an owner built adventure.
From our Karoo farm, Ou Tweefontein, hidden 53 km away in the Sneeuberg Mountains we sourced all the necessary poplar beams for the thatch structure, as well as the reeds which were used for the ceilings of the rooms.
We look forward to giving all our guests a very warm welcome and endeavour to make your Karoo visit unforgettable.
Our standard luxury suites offer king size extra length beds with top quality bedding and en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower. There is also a small desk that can be used for working on your laptop. The room is also equipped with, among other things, Wi-Fi (complimentary). All our standard rooms are wheelchair friendly.
Our non-smoking executive or honeymoon suite offers a stunning view of the mountains surrounding Graaff-Reinet from the bed or lounge area. This luxury suite has a spacious open plan design. Your room is also equipped with, among other things, Wi-Fi (complimentary), a safe and DSTV. Because this suite is on the upper level, it is not wheelchair friendly.
The establishment is a fully equipped self-catering house.
Please note:
- Children aged between 0 and 10 pay 50% of the sharing rate.
- Any damage caused by guests to property and premises due to bad behaviour or carelessness, or keys lost and replaced for security reasons will be for the guests account.
