Located in the tiny Van Reenen village (population 28), situated on the N3 highway at the top of Van Reenen pass, The Green Lantern Inn is famous among travellers and sportsmen as a halfway refreshing point and offers unrivalled old school hospitality in a unique historic environment.
Start your holiday with a home cooked meal and warm bed, or spend a few days with us exploring the scenic eastern Drakensberg, or just break your trip with a hearty breakfast or lunch in our 100 year old Restaurant and well stocked pub.
Our meal selection caters for all tastes and budgets and children can stretch their legs in our safe enclosed playground and there is also a tea garden. Accommodation options include self-catering in our cosy Chalets, and B&B or full board in the hotel. Guests staying in Chalets enjoy full use of the Hotel facilities. Our prices are very affordable to South Africans and we offer a very well-priced midweek special and genuine business traveller rate. We are also one of the most central function venues. Situated halfway between Johannesburg and Durban and 380km from Bloemfontein.
In-Room facilities include: additional bed / mattress, air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, bathroom towels, bed linen, complimentary toiletries, heater, tea and coffee facilities.
