Motswiri is another exclusive five star lodge set in the heart of Madikwe. Set among a Leadwood forest this lodge really give guests the impression that they are deep in the African Bush. Our lodge offers some of the best views in Madikwe as well as the feeling of tranquillity given by the mature trees (mostly leadwoods) under which the main building and 5 luxury bush villas nestle.
An intimate homely setting offering complete privacy.
The magnificent rooms are all very private and equipped with all the luxuries a discerning traveller could wish for. This lodge sleeps 10 people and is perfect for corporate getaways or small groups.
Children
At Motswiri, we know family is important, therefore children of all ages are more than welcome. Our Child policy has been designed to make family holidays more affordable which has been proven below regarding the structure:
0 – 4 years free of charge
5-14 years 50% off the adult fare
Children will receive an activity pack when arriving at the lodge. The pack contains an assortment of activities such as puzzles, mazes, activities, colouring pencils etc. Children 6 years and younger, may be allowed on the game drives, but will be at the discretion of the rangers. We also take them on bush walks inside our enclosed area of the camp. During these walks, they will look for and identify different bugs, dung, plants etc. We also take the younger children that were not able to go on the game drives on a very special “kiddies bumble” after breakfast.
We can offer special kiddies meals that our little guests can order when arriving at camp. Babysitting facilities are available on request. This will ensure that parents have peace of mind knowing that their children are well taken care of by qualified child minders.
Spa Treatments:
We offer a range of spa treatments consisting of a full body, back and neck massage enjoyed in the privacy of the guests rooms.
Manicures and pedicures are available.
All treatments need to be booked in advance and prices are available on request.
Special occasions:
If you are visiting the lodge for any special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries or birthdays, we will make sure that your stay will be a memorable one. This is done by including special turndowns in the rooms, complimentary sparkling wine, homemade cakes etc. If you have any other special requests, we will be more than happy to try and accommodate them.
Weddings:
Motswiri lends itself as an ideal venue for intimate and romantic bush weddings which we have successfully achieved in the past.
Tour Guides:
* Tour Guides can be accommodated subject to availability (may only be confirmed last minute).
* Guides are not guaranteed game drives.
Flight/Air Transfers:
* Daily scheduled MADIKWE AIR/FEDERAL AIR flights from O.R. Tambo Airport (JIA).
* Private charters are available on request.
* Road transfers available on request.
* Fly in fee into the Madikwe Reserve; please settle in camp.
What to bring in winter: May To August:
* Beanie
* Scarf
* Gloves
* Long johns/thermal underwear for game drives as it can be bitterly cold due to the wind chill factor (pantyhose/tights are also a great chill deterrent!)
* Warm jackets are essential in winter
WHAT TO BRING WITH ME IN GENERAL:
(Irrespective of the time of year, the following must definitely be brought with you).
* Memory cards.
* Camera’s with batteries.
* Binoculars or spotting scope.
* Sun block.
* Reference material (eg. Bird or tree books).
* Jacket or sweat shirt for game drives.
* Any chronic medication – the nearest chemist is over 100kms away.
* Comfortable walking shoes.
* Sun hat.
* Sunglasses.
* Sun block.
* Light, neutral coloured clothing.
Gate entrance fees:
* Gates open at 06h00 and closes at 21h00.
* Entrance fee into the Madikwe Reserve by road, please settle in camp.
