Sunset Lodge (St Lucia)
St Lucia
Chalet, Self Catering
(8
units)
(39 customer reviews)
Sunset Lodge is situated on the banks of the St Lucia Esturary, a World Heritage Site. St Lucia was declared by UNESCO protocol in 1999 and is South Africa’s first and largest natural World Heritage Site. It is a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. This means that its value as a conservation area extends beyond the borders of the country.
It’s a habitat for birds such as the small Waders, which breed in northern Eurasia, and migrate to the southern hemisphere to avoid the northern winter. It is also of regional importance for Duck and other water bird populations, which are able to survive at St Lucia when there are severe droughts elsewhere in Southern Africa. Once the drought is over, these birds migrate northwards to restock the wetlands in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
We are luxury self-catering log cabins. Each chalet is fully equipped, fully serviced and has a kitchen, lounge, bathroom, air conditioning, and TV (channels: 1, 2, 3, e-TV and Mnet).
Our luxurious log cabins have decks on which you can sit and relax while you enjoy our famous African sunsets as well as being able to view animals such as Hippo, Red Duiker and Bush Buck, which can often be seen on our front lawn. We also have resident Lourie, Yellow-Billed Kites and Hornbills.
You can sit on your own private patio, or soak up the sun and swim in our crystal clear swimming pool while watching the boats; Hippos, Crocodiles and listen to the cry of the Fish Eagle go by.
