The Bay of Maputo with its tranquil waters offers safe snorkeling and lots of exploration possibilities in the Mangrove forest, the dunes with beautiful views and the Elephant Reserve with its wild life. It is an angler's paradise for both deep-sea and shore anglers.
Nhonguane Lodge offers comfortable accommodation in beautiful surroundings with air-conditioned bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms in the houses.
The tented camp is for nature lovers with all the necessary amenities. All units are self-catering. The bedrooms have air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Kitchens are fully equipped with fridge and freezers. The safari tents each has its own en-suite bathroom and fan with mosquito nets.
There is cellphone reception. Ice is sold and fresh seafood when available. Friendly and helpful staff! We regret but we do not have card facilities on site.
The Santa Maria Peninsula is an unspoiled Mozambican shoreline situated just to the south of Inhaca Island in Southern Mozambique. Nhonguane Lodge is located along the beach about 1km from the channel separating the peninsula from Inhaca Island. The Bay of Maputo stretches for 40km from Maputo to the peninsula. Maputo is 550km from Johannesburg by road and the Lodge is 38km across the bay from Maputo as the crow flies.
